The fruit of a farmer’s labor holds within it exponential capacity to nourish all forms of life; from microorganisms in the soil, to livestock in the field, to human community... We have a particular affection for the Ancient Greek term Telos, meaning greatest purpose, and regard farming as action towards a shared sense of this. Our greatest purpose as individuals, and as a farm, is to holistically nourish the land and animals we steward, as much as the community we feed. In other words, to honor and thoughtfully contribute to natural cycles of life, acting in the knowledge that we are but one small part of a wondrous whole.

Rowdy Sprout Farm was established in 2025. We, co-owners Tommy and Kirsten, met while respectively attending and working at a non-profit farmer training program the year prior — both poised at the time to take the leap into farming independently. We started out as a collaborative initiative on an incubator acre offered by organic blueberry farm Mutiny Bay Blues, cost sharing and labor swapping to lighten one another’s start-up burdens. Entering our second season we are now companions in life and work, committed still to finding innovative and cooperative ways towards economic and ecologic viability as a small farm business.
